Did anybody considered that maybe Ginny and Harry’s relationship was superficial because JKR planned to kill Harry at the end?

Then there was no point in developing a meaningful relationship between Harry and Ginny, that’s why she planned and built Ron and Hermione’s romance so carefully and Harry had only fling worthy romaces.

NEW THEORY - AMORTENTIA - HARMONY

“… it’s supposed to smell differently to each of us, according to what attracts us, and I can smell freshly mown grass, and new parchment and—”

New parchment - fairly obvious, it refers to Hermione’s love for books, reading, learning etc…

Unknown element - Ron’s hair, according to JKR.

Freshly mown grass - now this is something that doesn’t really fit. Grass? Why? Hermione is not really the outdoor type, or had any real experience, memory that  we could connect to the grass, and the same goes for Ron too.

But we can connect someone more obvoius: Harry. He is mentioned to mown grass a lot, or gardening, hiding under the flower bushes in the Dursley’s house hold. Lots of their (Harry and Hermione) interractions seemes to happen outdoors: in the forest (saving Buckbeak, meeting Grawp, leading Umbridge into the forest, walk by the lake etc…) they are alone, without Ron living through some intensive situation, bonding. Then their is Harry’s love for the grass, the outdoors, quidditch. One of  his last thoughts before he died in DH:

“Every second he breathed, the smell of the grass, the cool air on his face, was so precious”

My conclusion is that Hermione’s smelled 3 things she loved dearly: books (that she was always aware about) Ron ( whom she fancied, and consciously knew about but didn’t want the others to know) and Harry. The grass represents Harry, a love so strong and obvious that she isn’t even aware of it, that’s why she says it out loud, not even thinking about it because her love for Harry is so natural for her like her love for books. Something that is part of her, unintentionally, unconsciously, all the while her attraction for Ron is not, that’s why she is aware of it. Long before this confession of hers I read numerous fanfictions describing Harry to smell like grass, wood or something closley connected to nature. I don’t know if the authors just repeating each other, or unconsciously imagine Harry smelling like that because of the mentioned things above.

We need to concentrate on more than meets the eye

But it’s you i take, cause you’re the truth, not I

For me when I read the first book at the age of 10 the interesting thing about Hermione and Ron’s character was that I immediately liked Ron for being so easy going and funny and disliked Hermione for telling on the boys and being a bit annoying, but as the books progressed and the characters grew things changed to the opposite. I started to see Ron’s faults, his meannes and immaturenes, and how Hermione’s character deepened by showing her kindness and loyality all the while Ron remained just as supericifal as he was at the begining, a child who saw the world either white or black. For me Ron always remained 12, while Hermione, Harry (and me to) grow more complex, more mature with the years gone by. Ron is the kind of guy who likes to stay on the surface, he doesn’t analyzes feelings or problems, he avoides talking about emotions at all cost. It is not bad, but in Hermione’s case I would think she needed or would have wanted a man who at least sits and listens while she talked and not someone who would run away screaming.  I mean Harry is a guy too, but he has at least decant amount of emotional intelligency, he is not afraid to look into himself or make an effort to make others happy.

At the beginning Harry was drawned to Ron for the same reason I was: he was easy to talk to, friendly and welcoming. But as easily Harry got him he lost him just as easly over and over again. But Harry’s friendship with Hermione was different. They worked on their friendship it wasn’t given right from the start, they earned each other’s love and respect. So this love is why their relationship is so much deeper and more stable than Ron’s with Harry or Ron’s with Hermione.

In my opinion Ron always choosed the easy way.

With Hermione, instead of really paying attention to her and really trying to undersand or at least getting to know her he used a silly book. There were plenty of attepts by Hermione to move forward with Ron, she given not-so-subtle-signs that she indeed liked Ron and Ron always ran away and rejected her. But Harry was there, he made sacrafices for keeping Hermione’s friendship and so did Hermione, even if they were angry with each other, or didn’t agree with the other, they stayed and looked out for the other ( the Firebolt incident, rushing to the Ministry even though Hermione knew its a trap, staying with Harry when Ron left, etc…). They were not afraid to let each other in, because they knew they can trust in eachother.

End of my rant

Thanks for you attention

“You’d think people had better things to gossip about,” said Ginny as she sat on the common room floor, leaning against Harry’s legs and reading the Daily Prophet. “Three Dementor attacks in a week, and all Romilda Vane does is ask me if it’s true you’ve got a Hippogriff tattooed across your chest.”
Ron and Hermione both roared with laughter. Harry ignored them.
What did you tell her?”
I told her it’s a Hungarian Horntail,” said Ginny, turning a page of the newspaper idly. “Much more macho.”
Thanks,” said Harry, grinning. “And what did you tell her Ron’s got?”
A Pygmy Puff, but I didn’t say where.”
― J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Its just occured to me that there is a rumour that Harry has a Hippogriff tattood on his chest. A Hippogriff. The symbole of love. The symbole we use for Harry and Hermione’s love. They fucking rode away on Buckbeak, the hippogriff that is the symbole of love in mythology.

This scene is like a hint that their is a hidden romance between Harry and Hermione. A hidden hippogriff just above his heart.

When you get what you want but not what you need

You saw all my pieces broken
This darkness that I could never show
If I told you you were right would you take my hand tonight?
If I told you the reasons why would you leave your life and ride?

Things that irks me in harmony fanfictions

Those fices we all know….

Firstly I let you know that I know how hard it is to write fanfiction as I am a writer myself and I made some of the above things too

Feel free to add to the list

Harmony

I just read OOTP again and got to the part where Harry and the others riding the testrals to London. And it never really occured to me that how this act required so much bravery and devotion from Hermione. I mean she didn’t saw the testrals she hates flying and despite of this she did it for Harry, she went up flying hundred meters in the air not seeing what is keeping her up in the air. The others were use to flying, and Luna…is Luna. But Hermione is afraid of the hights. She really is a loyal friend, she really must have loved Harry for doing this for him.

S.S. Harmony - random

Sometimes I think that Yates/Heyman/Kloves/Cuaron/Newell did everything humanly possible to make Harmony happen as much as it canonly possible.

I mean all the little moments, gestures (eyecontact, smile, handholding, hugging), all the big moments of Harrys and Hermiones lives they shared it together. They were like attached by the hip through the 8 movies. We got to see them kiss more passionatly than any other couple, we had a sexy half naked snogging scene, we saw them dance, they had their own song, we had all Hermione looking at Harry like a messiah, and Harry looking at her like she was the only thing he is living for. They cuted the Epilouge so it was about Harry and Hermione, zooming on their faces leaving you with the memory of the two of them standing together while they said goodby to their children, totally ignoring Ron and Ginny.

This movies in the romantic department was basically about Harry and Hermione’s love for each other, without even making them confes their love or kiss ( really) they managed to create a tragic lovestory that supposedly wasn’t even in their.

So I just bow to them!
